Kielbasa and Kraut

This has been a good dish for taking to pot-luck dinners at work or church and is so easy to make.


Ingredients:

  • 1 link your favorite kielbasa, smoked
  • 1 large jar of sauerkraut
  • 1 onion, diced
  • butter or margarine
  • pepper, to taste
  • caraway, to taste
  • brown sugar, to taste

Preparation:

  1. Saute the diced onion in butter or margarine until it is transparent.
  2. Add the rinsed kraut and cook until it is tender.
  3. Add brown sugar, caraway and black pepper.
  4. When the flavors have blended, mix the kraut with kielbasa and bake in the oven for about 30-45 minutes.
You can always add to the spices, but cannot take them away, so that is why my seasonings are "to taste".
