     Egenhardt Klump was the eighth child born to August and Anna Klump. He was born December 8, 1863 in New Ulm, Texas. He was baptized August 29, 1864 at the Trinity Luthern Church in New Ulm. Egenhardt grew-up in New Ulm and went to school there. In 1883 he moved with the family to a new homestead near Greenvine, Washington, County. On November 26, 1887 Egenhardt married Hedwig Ashorn, the sixth child of Heinrich and Carolina (Liebscher) Ashorn, from New Ulm.
     Egenhardt and Hedwig had nine children, eight of which were born in New Ulm. During the 1900 U.S. census Egenhardt and his family were living in Washington, County. By the 1910 U.S. census they had made their way to Goliad County. They were living in Goliad County before 1908 because their second child Julius Edward Egenhardt Klump died in Goliad County in that year. In 1912 their last son Arthur was born in Goliad County.
     Egenhardt lived out his life in Goliad County. On December 31, 1946 he died and his wife Hedwig followed the following September 7.
