     Otto Klump was born March 12, 1859 on the Klump farm near New Ulm, Texas. He was the sixth child of August and Anna Klump. He was baptized at the Trinity Luthern Church in New Ulm on August 29, 1864. He spent his childhood on the farm and attended school in New Ulm. Very little is known about his childhood. He lived in New Ulm with the family until 1883, when his father August bought a new homestead in Washington County and moved the family there. On December 18, 1887 he married Emma Schuette from Austin County. Emma was the daughter of Henry and Ann Schuette.
     They made their home in Washington County. In 1889 their first child was born. Herman Carl Klump died in infancy. In 1891 Hertha was born, followed by, Normanda in 1892, Herbert in 1899, and Adele in 1904. In 1908 or 1909 Otto, Emma, and the three youngest children move to Stonewall County. Herta, who had married Edward Mischer from La Grange, Fayette County, Texas, moved to Stonewall County sometimes later. Otto and Emma lived in Stonewall County the rest of their lives. Otto died on February 10, 1944 and was buried next to Emma in the Old Glory Cemetery in Stonewall County.
