AUS-HIST-WOMEN is a mailing list for the discussion and exchange of information relating to the genealogy and history of women in Australia.

You must be a subscriber to post to the list.  To join please follow the subscription instructions below.

Given that this is such a broad area for discussion there isn't much that the "listowner" considers to be 'off-topic'. However, courtesy between list members is expected and will be enforced. 

Basically, list members can discuss any topic relating to the history and genealogy of women in Australia and be as passionate in debate as they wish provided it does not become personal or abusive.

The nasty (but necessary) bit ...

List members who do not follow the "Play the ball not the woman (or man)" rule will be given a warning sent to their subscription e-mail address.  If they continue personal attacks or abuse they will be unsubscribed from the list.

• To subscribe send the word "subscribe" (without the quotes) as the only text in the body of a message to :

[email protected] (mail mode - you will recieve each post sent to the list as a seperate e-mail) or 

[email protected] (digest mode - you will receive one e-mail containing 5-10 list posts).

• To change your subscription from mail mode to digest mode you will need to unsubscribe from one (see below) and then subscribe to your new choice.

• To unsubscribe send the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) as the only text in the body of a message to the mode (above) that you are subscribed to.
