I am trying to help my brother in law with his Tree. His Gt Grandparents were Stephen NEARY and Agnes JACK who married in Christchurch (or may be Dunedin) around 1880. I'm fairly sure that Agnes is a daughter of Peter JACK and Martha McKENDRICK. She was born in Glasgow. This couple later moved to Masterton where amongst their many children was
Peter Jack NEARY, b. 1892. He (and possibly some brothers) moved to New South Wales, where he died in 1942 at Randwick, Sydney.
I can't seem to find anyone at all interested in this NEARY family, though I notice there are still plenty of NEARYs in NZ.

I'm helping an 83 year old distant relative search for one line of the family tree who moved to NZ in approx 1908. The mothers name was Frances Ellen Cooper (nee Eyles) who later married a New Zealander by the name of Charles Frederick Hayden. She died in Wellington in 1943. She left Tasmania for NZ with only some of her 15 children. The people I am looking for right now are: Thomas Astor GIBBS and Elizabeth GIBBS nee CAFFREY who married in Perth, Western Australia 20 April 1897. Thomas may have been born in Hull, England and Elizabeth was born in Co Cavan in Ireland. They were living in Paeroa, New Zealand at the time of Thomas's death in 1919 in the Hamilton Hospital, and he is buried in Hamilton East Cemetery. However he was admitted to the hospital from Pukeatua. They had a son born c 1903 and a daughter born c 1909 and two children of the correct age were admitted to Pukeatua School, their names were Cecil and Eileen. I am searching for information on family who lived/live in the Hamilton region of New Zealand. I expect several are now deceased, but the children or their children may be still alive. The father Harold Edward Annett OBE, is a well known former farmer and university lecturer at Massey Uni and is in the New Zealand Who’s Who. I know he died in May 1980.
