George Bagnall, born about 1862 in Jump, Barnsley, Yorkshire, the son of William Parton Bagnall and Sarah Sylvester. He died 12th December 1943  at 7 Jump Pit, Hoyland at the age of 82. George was married in 1884 in Barnsley district, to Elizabeth Ann Sanderson, born 1864 in Stubbin, Hoyland, Yorkshire, daughter of Thomas Sanderson and Ellen nee' Walters. Elizabeth Ann died 2 weeks after husband George on 27th December 1943.

George and Elizabeth Ann had the following children:

Thomas William Bagnall, born 1884 in Hoyland, Yorkshire. Married 1907 in Barnsley district to Ellen Haines.

Lawrence Parton Bagnall, born 1887 in Hoyland, Yorkshire, died of wounds 26 April 1918 in Theatre of War, France and Flanders. Married 1915 in Barnsley district to Ellen Perkes.

Cyril Bagnall, born 1889 in Hoyland, Yorkshire, died about 1968 in Staincross, Barnsley. Cyril was married 1910 in Barnsley district to Annie Swindells.

George Edwin Bagnall, born 1891 in Hoyland, Yorkshire. Killed in action 9th April 1917 in Theatre of war, France and Flanders. Married 1913 in Barnsley district to Ethel Jackson.

Sarah Ellen Bagnall, born 1895 in Hoyland, Yorkshire.

Agnes Bagnall, born 1896 in Hoyland, Yorkshire.

Bertie Bagnall, born 12th December 1897 in Hoyland, Yorkshire. He died in 1974 in Sheffield district. Bertie is recorded as a Gunner on the Hoyland Nether Roll of Honour.
