John Bagnall, was the son of John Bagnall & Frances, born 14 March 1816 in Masbrough, Rotherham, Yorkshire.He was baptised 21st April 1816 in Rotherham All Saints church, fathers occupation: Coal Miner.

John was married on 4th June 1838 in Rotherham All Saints church, to Elizabeth Fenton. Elizabeth had been married before to Samuel Fenton. She was the daughter of William White and Millicent Lowe, born 7th October 1812 in Masbrough, Rotherham, Yorkshire.

Sarah Ann Bagnall, born about 1839 in Rotherham, Yorkshire, baptised 7th April 1839 in Rotherham All Saints. Married about 1860 to Joseph Dean.

 

Eliza Bagnall, born 19 August 1840 in Masbro', Rotherham, baptised 1st November 1840 in Rotherham All Saints.

 

Amelia Bagnall, born about 1842 in Rotherham.

 

Mary Ann Bagnall, born 11 December 1842 in Masbro', Rotherham, baptised 1st January 1843 in Rotherham All Saints.

 

William Bagnall, born about 1845 in Kimberworth, Rotherham.

 

Betsy Bagnall, born about 1849 in Kimberworth, Rotherham.

 

In 1849, John Bagnall was convicted of robbery with violence, and was sentenced to be "Transported beyond the seas for seven years"
