Taylorville ILLinois - HERMAN C.GOODALL, age 88 years 2 days; died Wednesday, November 2, 2002, at St.Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville ILL. He was born October 31, 1913 ,in Flippin, KY, the Son of ,ODES C.GOODALL and IVA [KIRBY] GOODALL.He married MARY LORETTA VANCIL in 1937 in Morrisonville ILLinois. Mr. Goodall was a miner at Peabody Mines 8 an 9 retiring in 1975 from Wagner Casting in Decatur ILLinois. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, ILLinois and United Mine Workers of America. Survivors: Wife LORETTA; Son DAVID GOODALL [wife Phyllis] of Taylorville; two daughters, SHARON [GOODALL]YATES and BRENDA [GOODALL [husband Lee] LANZOTTI; both of Taylorville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great- great- grandchildren. Services were held at 11 am on Monday, November 26 th 2002 @ Connolly- McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. Dr. Phillip Icenogle officaiating. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville ILLinois .

WESLEY JAMES GOODALL, b; 1930, in Edmund, OK, d; Fresno, CA, on 1967. his Death in 1967. My mother is Terry and was born in Milano, Italy, 1932. Her full given maiden name is Terrsilla Marie Nalin. My father married her in Italy while he was in the Marines during the early 1950s and brought her back to the States with him. She is remarried and now goes by Terry Sehm, still residing in Fresno Calif. My Grandfather is named Joseph S. Goodall, born to Wesley and Mary (Overstreet) Goodall on February 12, 1901. Joseph died on February 5, 1968 in Fresno, CA. I believe Joseph may have been born in Sulpher, OK, or somewhere in ILLINOIS. His death certificate says his birthplace is Sulpher, OK, And he has a veterans grave marker at his burial site in Fresno, CA, that says "ILLINOIS" on it. I'm also told that his father (my Great-Grandfather), was named WESLEY GOODALL and that he committed suicide somewhere in ILLINOIS sometime during the period of the '29 stock crash/Great Depression. This is unsubstantiated and is based on my mother's very vague recollection of a conversation that she had with a family member many many years ago. My Grandmother is named LEONA SUSAN(ROACH)GOODALL, born on June 26, 1907 somewhere in Texas and deceased in Fresno, CA, on October 5, 1986. I was told that Susan was the daughter of a minister in a small Texas town when my Grandfather married her and took her to Oklahoma to live. This must have occurred in the late 1920's. Leona is not a common name. I have identified two other women named Leona Roach who were born in Texas in the same era. I am hoping that they may provide a lead. 1.) LEONA CECILIA ROACH, b 23 Dec 1889 in Cedar Valley, TX, d 15 Nov 1936 in Bell Springs, Hays, TX. Leona Cecilia is the daughter of Absolom Wayne Roach, b 19 Sept 1866 in Lockhart, Caldwell Co., TX, m 17 Feb 1889 in Bell Spring, TX, d 25 May 1956 in Blanco, TX. 2.) Leona Roach, b 31 Oct 1899, d 13 Jan 1992, Reagan Co., TX. My father is the oldest of six children...Wesley James, Alice, Claude, Coy (deceased Fresno), Robert, and Larry. My Grandparents (Joseph and Susan) and my father (Wesley) moved from Oklahoma to California during the 1930's and were very poor migrant farmworkes in Central California for several decades. I just made my first attempt ever to look at my genealogy and came across your messages in Genealogy.Com. Do any of you have any information on a "Goodall" clan (Illinois or Oklahoma, 1890s/early 1900s???) or a "Roach" clan (Texas, 1890s/early 1900s???) that I may be connected to?
