"Sept. 7th - Simon Coumans and Mary Farrell were married after one call of banns* Simon Coumans son of John Commans and Jane Saragent of Grenock C.W. & Mary Farrell daughter of Louis Farrell and Christian Englisby late of Ireland County of Mayth. Witnesses William Reeves and Patrick Ebbat.  - F. Dumortier."

* A "call of banns" refers to the Catholic tradition of calling out the names of the two to be wed in order to determine if there are any in the congregation who object to the proposed marriage. Read more . . .
