William is the s/o Thomas and Nancy Carroll (Jackson) Kesterson who died in Greene Co TN. Anna was the d/o Thomas and Elizabeth (Hurley) Stroud both died in Greene Co TN. William C. Kesterson married Anna Stroud on June 11, 1848 in Greene, TN. William and Anna had four children in Greene, TN, before moving their family to Clay Co. IL in 1868 or 1869. After moving to IL they had two more children, Sarah J. and Polly A.. After the death of William's wife, Anna, he married Sarah (Sally) Smith Kenley (b. 1825 in Kentucky) on March 17, 1864 in Clay Co., IL. Sarah brought with her to the marriage her 3 children: Caroline Kenley b 1850, IL; Sally A. Kenley b 1854, IL; and John Kenley b 1857, IL. On the 1870 Clay Co., IL census there was also a man listed as "idiotic" living in their household named James Gillot, age 50, born in TN. Don't know what, if any, relation he might be
