Hawley Cemetery

Located off Route 615 in an area of Floyd County called Flathead.
It is next to Possum Hollow.
In olden days it was called Tindall.


 
Boyd Hawley - Died Sept. 18, 1920 - Age 93 years
Boyd was a grandson of Peter Hawley af Montgomery County.  He was the son of James Madison Hawley and Katherine Cofer also of Montgomery County.

Susan Hawley - Born June 14, 1822 - Died Feb. 4, 1909
Boyd Hawley's wife.  He married Susan Cooper Nov. 1, 1848 in Montgomery County.

Jacob C. Hawley - 1861 - 1947
Jacob was the son of Boyd and Susan Hawley.

R. Etta Hawley - 1865 - 1952
Etta was Jacob's wife.  She was a Sowers.

Edward Howery
Edward married Claudia Hawley, a daughter of Jacob.  The stone was knocked over and could not get dates.

James Willie Howery - Born Dec. 12, 1907 - Died Nov. 9, 1933
James was the son of Edward and Claudia.

Victoria Sumner - Born 1862 - Died April 2, 1890
Victoria was the daughter of Boyd and Susan Hawley.  She married Joel H. Sumner Nov. 24, 1885.

Jasper Hawley - 1888 - 1969
Jasper was the son of Jacob and Etta Hawley.

Calvin Lee Hawley, Jr. - Born April 1, 1973 - Died April 1, 1973
Calvin was the great grandson of Romley Hawley.

Romley G. Hawley - Oct. 29, 1883 - Oct. 27, 1953
Romley was the son of Jacob and Etta Hawley.

Eliza C. Hawley - Jan. 20, 1884 - Sept. 25, 1959
Eliza was Romley's wife.  She was a Howery.

Ione Hawley Gibson - 1910 - 1973
Ione was the daughter of Romley and Eliza.

In the upper right corner of the cemetery there was a stone marker.  There is no name but family lore has it that a Confederate Soldier is buried there.

There were probably more people buried here but no other markers were found.
