HORNBARGER CEMETERY
Belmont Community
Montgomery County, Virginia

From Christiansburg, Virginia, travel on Rt. 460 (towards Blacksburg) and turn left on Rt. 114.  Turn left on Vickers Switch Road and then turn left onto Easy Street.  At nearly the end of Easy Street, turn right on Height Street.  The cemetery is on the left at the end of the paved portion of Height Street.  It is obscured by white pines.  Vickers Switch Road makes a loop off Rt. 114 so there are two street signs 1.3 miles apart.

Notes:
Underlined letters or numbers = stone worn, our best guess
Blank ______ = stone too worn to read
(  )= information in parentheses has been obtained elsewhere.  Most of this information was found in the book Twelve Stones for Belmont, Revisited in 2000 edited by Clovis E. Linkous.  A few copies are left at the Wilderness Road Museum in Newbern, Virginia.

There were several bases with stones missing; some digging might uncover the stones.  There were many fieldstones marking other graves.  In 2001, a Hornbarger descendant cleared this cemetery of several trees and undergrowth; otherwise this listing could not have been done.  Much more needs to be done.
