Mary E. Kitterman Dies In Roanoke
 
Mrs. Mary E. Kitterman aged 71 years died yesterday morning at the home of
Dr. E. L. Lawrence, 226 Broadway, South Roanoke. Death was sudden, resulting
from heart failure.
 
Mrs. Kitterman is survived by the following children: Son-Peter D.
Kitterman; daughters-Mrs. J. M. Gillispie, Mrs. Ada Kelley, Mrs. E. L. Lawrence,  all
of Roanoke, and Mrs. Thomas H. Shelton, Forest Hill, MD.
 
Funeral services will be held from the Grace Methodist church this  afternoon
at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
 
The active pallbearers will be Ernest Lawrence, Page Lawrence, Harry
Lawrence, Albert Gillispie, Tiney Gillespie and Fred Easter.
 
Mrs. Kitterman is well known here being the daughter of the late A. J.
Kirby, and the widow of the late George W. Kitterman, and she resided in this
county until about 25 years ago, she moved with her family to Roanoke to live.
Her many relatives and friends will regret to hear of her death.
 
 
NOTE:  Mary Elizabeth Kirby was the mother of Nannie B. Kitterman b.1874 in Floyd  County.  Nannie was the wife of Dr. E. L. Lawrence of Floyd and daughter of
George W. Kitterman b.1842 in Floyd County.
