The Noyce family

The Noyce family is descended from William Noyce and Elizabeth Nicholas of Downton, Wilts.  Unfortunately, there are two women named Elizabeth Nicholas in the Downton parish records, who could have been the spouse of Wiliam Noyce; one christened on 21 November 1748, the daughter of Thomas Nicholas and Elizabeth; the other christened on 20 February 1747, the daughter of Josias and Martha Nicholas.  There only appears to have been one wedding, so there is no way of knowing which family Elizabeth belonged to. However, the IGI cite the Elizabeth christened in 1848 as the spouse of William Noyce, so I am inclined to believe that her parents were Thomas and Elizabeth.  I could also find no trace of William's birth in the Downton parish records although the IGI gives his birth about 1748.
