Peter Pincham was an early immigrant to Texas. He was born in 1797 in Virginia and arrived in Texas between October 1837 and January 1840. He received Third Class headright certificate #1176 from Nacogdoches District, and moved on to Montgomery County, settling in the Lindley's Prairie-Danville area. By 1846, he owned 215 acres in the R. Hostetter survey and 150 acres in the William Martin Survey.

He was enumerated as a farmer in the 1850 census of Montgomery County; Mrs. Mary Folks and her three children were in the household; she was probably his daughter.

He married Ann Dorris Wilson on August 18, 1851 in Montgomery County. She was born in Davidson Co., Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas Dorris and Clarinda Eckols. She was said to have been born in 1833 in Davidson County, Tennessee. Peter was elected Constable of Precinct One, Montgomery County, in 1850 and again in 1854.

The Texas General Land Office website contains a downloadable image of a document relating to the headright of Peter Pincham, dated 1858.

In 1860, an adult female in the family is listed as M Pincham. It is not known whether this female is Ann. There were four young children in the family at the time. Dorris family genealogies indicate that Ann died prior to 1860, but this cannot be verified.

On May 4, 1861, he joined the Danville Mounted Riflemen militia in Montgomery County as Orderly Sergeant. His name is not found in the rosters for regular CSA service, probably because of his advanced age.

According to family history, Peter died on October 15, 1867, probably in Danville.
