Of New Cowper. Inherited farm from father. Married Jane Pattinson 24/04/1684 Holme Cultram.
4.Thomas Barwis 1686-1769
Married Elizabeth Osmotherley 21/09/1710 Bromfield
Thomas bought Langrigg Hall from Cuthbert Osmotherley, Elizabeth's father, but never lived in it.
4.William Barwis 1687-1770
Married Ann Osmotherley 29/11/1713 Holme Cultram.
1713 - of Mawbray
1766 - received Knot House, Langrigg, from brother
4.Robert Barwis 1692-1783
Succeeded his father who left him the Towngate lands. Married

Married Catherine Gilliat 11/1/1760 at Harrington.
No direct proof that this is same David, but there is no other David arround,
and sons' names match (including Benjamin).
6.Benjamin Barwise 1775-1830
Bapt 1/4/1792 Harrington, with Frances and Joseph. Married:
1.Ann Graham 23/5/1796 St James, Whitehaven. She died 26/8/1798.

Was Ship master/owner.
Lived George St 1803/1811, Lonsdale place 1796, and 1822-30.
Also owned house at High St, possibly same house his mother was at when he died 1818.
