In the Name of God Amen, the 30th . day of September in the year of our Lord God one thousand, six hundred and thirty-three: I Edmund Bathe of the parish of Stethians in the County of Cornwall Gent: being sick in body (but God be thanked) of good and perfect memory do ordain and  make this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made. First I bequeath my soul to the Almighty God my Maker and Redeemer by whose bitter death and Passion I have a confident assurance (by my faith in Him) to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven; my body I command and desire to have an orderly and Christian burial.

Then I give and devise unto the Poor of the Parish of Stithians the sum of thirteen shillings and four pence to be disposed well by my Executor. Then I give and bequeath to each of my brethren a pair of white leather gloves and to my sister Grace Wollocombe the like pair of gloves. Then I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Bathe the sum of fifty pounds to be paid unto her in the term of three years next after my decease if she not be assured thereof upon her marriage, in the meantime the said fifty pounds to be so paid after my decease to be paid yearly in three years after my decease in equal portions at the end of every year. Then I give and bequeath unto my sonne James Bathe a pair of Mollie clothes about four yards; then I give unto Temperance the daughter of the said James Bathe a ewe, and unto William the sonne of my sonne Henry Bathe the colt of my red mare.

Then I give and bequeath unto Walter James my son-in-law twelve pence. Then I give and bequeath unto Mr. Orchard Vicar of the said parish of Stethians for tithes forgotten the sum of six shillings and eight pence.  All the rest of my goods and chattels not given and bequeathed, I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Henry whom I make and ordain to be my full and whole Executor and I appoint and desire my good friends John Joselyn and William Carnan to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament, whom I desire to do the best they may to see and keep good concord and love between my children and to see this my Will well performed and for their pains and care therin I give each of them a pair of gauntlet gloves usually made at St. Columb.  In witness of the Truth hereof I, the said Edmund Bathe have hereunto put my hand the day and year first above said.
