• Adelaide Carney, b. 20 Aug 1873 at Batsto; he died 17 Sep 1938 in Atlantic City. She married George Elwood Gale* in 1889; he was the son of George Gale and Hannah Johnson. George Elwood Gale was born in 1865 in New Gretna and died 1939 in Bargaintown. Adelaide and George are both buried in Elwood Cemetery. It is possible George went by his middle name and it has been suggested that the man named Elwood Gale who listed his residence as Hermann on an 1892 poll book is the same man.

The children of Adelaide Carney and George Elwood Gale were:

1. Horace Gale, who lived in Florida and married Alice Mae first and later a woman named Gladys
2. Edith Augusta Gale, b. 15 Aug 1890, Mizpah, Atlantic County. He died 20 Mar 1968 in Pennsauken, New Jersey. She was married first to Walter John Marsh in 1909. He was born in 1890 in Atlantic County and died 19 Jan 1919 in Baltimore. Her second husband was Harry Carmen, who she married in 1925. Harry was born in 1890, died 1951. Edith is buried in Bargaintown (Zion United Methodist Cemetery); Walter John Marsh is buried in Pleasantville.
