This is another fairly common name in the Batsto area. I have come across several references to this family name:

- There is a John Peterson that appears on the 1860 Census for Washington Twp; I need to go back to the census to get the rest of his
information
- There is another, different, John Peterson in 1850. He was 24 years old and he was residing in the Richard's mansion at Batsto.
- marriage records exist of an Anne Peterson marrying Jonathan Gifford at Pleasant Mills on 1 Oct 1850.
