Rosenkrantz Family
The following outline family tree details the many descendants of Hendrick Rosenkrantz of Norway;
it is important to note that for the most part this data was compiled from secondary sources. If anyone out there has
real documentation on any of this, please e-mail me.
I have found many, many sources on this family, both in print and on websites, but none that give any real documentation.
Please bear this in mind when utilizing this data; I can only say that I have gotten it from multiple, usually
reliable sources, but at the same time cannot document any of it myself.
Descendants of Hendrick Rosenkrantz
Hendrick Rosenkrantz was born in 1606 in Burgesell, Norway.
The only child of whom there appears to be any record is his son, Harmon
Hendrick Rosenkrantz.
note: the spelling of the surname appears in a variety of ways in the
various sources, inc. Rosenrkrantz, Rooskrantz, Rosenkrans, Rosenkrans, and
others.
Harmon Hendrick Rosenkrantz was born around the year 1632 in Bergen, Norway.
It is not clear in what year he first came to the New World, although he was in America by the time he was in his late 30s,
since his son, Alexander, was born in New York in 1659.
Harmon's wife, Magdalena Caper Dircks ( some records say 'Dires')
was apparently of Dutch descent, born in New Amsterdam in 1631. Harmon
died in New York, probably in Kingston, in 1697; his wife lived much longer
than he, passing on in 1725 in Ulster Co., NY.

The first child of Harmon Hendrick Rosenkrantz and Magdalena
was Alexander Augustus Rosenkrantz; his branch of the family is
enumerated below:
Alexander Augustus Rosenkrantz (1659-1746)
Alexander was born on 12 April, 1659, in New York. He died in July of 1746 in Walpack, New Jersey; it is not clear at what point his family removed to New Jersey.
Alexander was married to Marietten De Pui.
(Again, spelling differs from source to source; I have seen DePue, DePui, De Puy and others.
The children of Alexander Augustus Rosenkrantz were:
1.Harmon Rosenkrantz, born 1716. He married the daughter of John Stout,
by name of Maria or Anna Maria.
They were the parents in turn of Levi Rosenkrantz. Levi married Sally McDonald.

Francis P. Rosencrance - 1907 to 1976 and wife, Evelyn S. (Scouten) Rosencrance - 1908 to
