John Stout was born, lived and died in England. His wife was a woman by name of Elizabeth Bee. To my knowledge, the only known child of this couple was Richard Stout. Richard was born in Burton Joyce Parish, Nottinghamshire, England, possibly in 1615, and died in 1705 in Middletown, New Jersey.

Richard Stout was among that first group of settlers from Gravesend, Long Island that came to settle Monmouth County, New Jersey. His wife was Penelope Kent Van Princis (1622-1732). 1. John Stout, born about 1645 in Gravesend, Long Island. He married Elizabeth Crawford and had:
   • Richard Stout, born 1678 in Middletown, NJ; d. 17 Jan 1749/50 in Middletown. He was married to Esther Tilton (b. 5 Aug 1678 in Middletown) first, and secondly to Mary Tilton (b. 2 Feb 1680/1 in Middletown).

2. Richard Stout, born 1646 in Gravesend, Long Island. He died 10 Jul 1717 in Middletown, NJ. He was also married twice; first to Mary Seymour, and secondly to a woman named Frances. From his first marriage, he had the following children:

   • Robert Stout
   • Joseph Stout

3. Mary Stout, born 1648 in New Amsterdam (?). She married James Bowne. James was born in Salem, MA on 25 Aug 1636, and died in 1692 in Freehold, NJ. He and Mary had the following children:

   • Andrew Bowne, who married Anne Seabrook
   • John Bowne
   • William Bowne
   • Elizabeth Bowne
4. James Stout, born 1650. He married Elizabeth Truax and had:
   • Penelope Stout, who married William Merill. William died in Hopewell in 1776.
5. Alice Deliverance Stout, born 1652. She married John Throckmorton.
6. Peter Stout, born 1654 in Gravesend, Long Island and died 1703 in Middletown, NJ. He married Mary Bollen and had:
   • John Stout. He married a woman named Mary
7. Sarah Stout, born 1656.
