This page is currently under construction...if you have anything to add to the history of Archertown, please send me an e-mail. For now, all I have are some news items concerning Archertown from old area newspapers. You can find them by clicking here.
This page has some good info on some of the families that lived here.
The "news" section makes mention of the suicide of Mary Collis, wife of Edward, in 1937. I found that family on the 1920 Federal Census, living on Brindle Park Road in New Egypt: Edward was 32 at that time, and his wife, Mary, was 34. They had a son, Willard, age 12 in 1920. Living with them at that time also was Mickel Larkin, age 58, who worked as a laborer.
Other families located nearby, and thus likely Archertown residents in 1920, were:
Clifford and Jennie Horner
Franklin and Ella Gablel
Susan Foulks
Charles A. Cullen
Jack Wright
and of course many more...
