All I know about this place is that it was somewhere in Burlington County, and that it was located near Red Lion and Purgatory.

There is a place called Bear Swamp through which the American troops skirted on their march from the 2nd Battle of Trenton to the Battle of Princeton during the Revolution, but I'm not sure if it's the same place or not.
It is located just north of Mercerville, Hamilton Twsp. Mercer County. Today I 295 cuts through it, as does the Main Line Amtrak tracks. If you look at a map of the area, the swamp is very roughly located inside of Rt. 1, Quaker Bridge Rd and Sloan Ave.
This site has a mention of Bear Swamp in its history of Red Lion.
