Christophers Mill was built about 1741 on Tuckerton Road, at Barton's Run, in the Medford area. The Hewling family operated the mill; they were among the first settlers of Medford. About 1743 there was a fire, and the house there was destroyed. It was rebuilt out of brick, and I am told it is still standing.
After that, the main activity at Christopher Mills was raising cranberries.
