All I know is that this was a very small settlement in Little Egg Harbor Township, supposedly named for one of the first families to live there. In 1883 it had under ten homes.
According to a visitor to this site,
The Giffords were Quakers who attended the Quaker Meeting House on Rt. 9 in Tuckerton, which still stands today.
It has a large burial ground attached to it and there are many Giffords buried there.
In 1985 the church was in good condition as was the burial ground. There is a road just south of the Meeting House, off Rt. 9,
that leads to Giffordtown. It seemed to be in Tuckerton, but could be just a bit south of it.
