High Crossing is at the intersection of four dirt roads and crossed by the defunct Central Rail Road tracks. The road that passes over the tracks rises sharply to meet the grade of the rails, and is about 5-6 feet higher than the rest of the roads. At one point in time there may have been a railroad station here but I haven't found any evidence to support this.

The dirt road that crosses over the tracks rises almost straight up 10 to 15 feet today, I am told, and wuold impossible for a car to pass through, though a four wheel drive vehicle may make it.

This is High Crossing as of early 2002.

A recent vistior to this site informs me that they have taken out the track and lowered the grade so fire trucks and emergency equipment can get through, so there really is no more "High" Crossing.
