This site says that Ambrose Pancoast (1791-1855) "took over the saw mill at the mill pond from Archibald Campbell. The railroad even initiated a stop called Pancoast at Pancoast Mill Road."
Recently a descendant of Ambrose Pancoast wrote me to inform me that "Their daughter Catherine Pancoast married David N. Clark".
Another descendant of his has written me, with this information:
Ambrose's daughter Elizabeth Pancoast married Phillip Emmel Mull . (Phillip Emmel Mull was a descendant of the Emmels of
Emmelville - his mother Catherine Emmel Mull was the sister of the Phillip Emmel featured on the
Emmelville page; Catherine is buried in Weymouth).
A bit more information may be found here.
Another researcher, Cindy, tells me
I know there was a stop on one of the old rail lines named "Pancoast" (maybe the Seashore Line?)
Anyone know anything about that?
