Welcome to my WALLICK family page. I am descended from George (1774?-1832) and
Susannah (?) WALLICK of Tuscarawas Co, OH.
Supposedly George came from Cumberland Co, PA,
but I haven't been able to trace him back there yet, other than a vague land
record. My branch of the family married into the
Aultman/Altman then
Beck families of
Holmes Co, OH, and then the
Cressman and
Bauerle families of
Clinton Co, MI.
Here is some additional information on George from Joanna Baker:
He was in the 1800 and 1810 census of Cumberland Co. PA. (Benjamin was next
door in 1800. He stated that he was from Cumberland Co when he applied for
land in Ohio and his daughter, Eleanor (my ancestor) was born in Cumberland
according to family Bible. The tax records in Cumberland show him with
a tanyard there until 1811 when he and Susanna sold the land he and Benjamin
had bought in 1799 from Robert Irwin.
There are at least two other Wallick families that ended up in Tuscarawas Co, OH:
the descendants of
Michael and Charlotte (?) Wallick of Bedford Co, PA
(see also this page), and
another Michael (or John?) Wallick whose second wife was
a Karenhuppach Gorsuch.
I have not been able to find any connection between them and my George, but
I suspect there may be one. Perhaps some day somebody will figure it out.

The non-matching area in the upper left is where I attempted to cover
the fingers of somebody holding the stone, possibly Dave Marshall,
to whom I'm indebted for the picture. Nancy was originally buried in
Logsdon Cemetery in Mechanic Twp, Holmes Co, OH, but the last I heard
was that this cemetery had been plowed under and the stones stacked off
to one side :^( Her husband Isaac Altman
then (my g4-grandfather) then remarried and eventually moved to Indiana
and died there.
