Crazed Man Bore Grudge [towards? life?] in General [???] Destruction Carried On by [???] Dynamited Bath School [???] Destroyed Trees [First column not copied - will be obtained later] he had a legitimate grudge against the community and, painful as it would be, he must exact his just dues. A month ago, Andrew Kehoe was a highly respected and popular citizen of Bath. As has been said, he was treasurer of the school board, he took an active interest in all civic affairs, his judgment and advice were sought on every hand. To all intent he was prosperous. Visitors to Bath were shown first the school building and then the neat, well-kept farm which Mr. Kehoe owned. Mortgage Foreclosed. And then things started to go wrong. His wife became ill. His wife's aunt, Mrs. Lawrence Price, of Lansing, foreclosed a mortgage on his farm. Taxes for the new school building had made a big hole in his finances. Something must have snapped. He stole a large supply of dynamite from a construction camp working on a bridge near here. He bought all he could without arousing suspicion. He saved every bit he could and then, entering the school by night, he planted it in the basement where it could not be detected. The plant that caused the ruin was under the ceiling in the fore part of the building. Other and bigger caches were found by state policemen who risked their lives to carry out some 500 pounds. It was found in cleverly concealed holes in the walls, beside rafters, in a little cubby hole built for the storage of books - in fact the man had taken advantage of the most strategic places and had planted enough dynamite to raze the entire building. B.A. LaPointe, a member of the Michigan constabulary and a former resident of Toledo was one of the men who defied death to search the ruins of the building for more dynamite. Mr. LaPointe live in Toledo six years ago and was employed by the Bock Bearing co.
