Daughters of American Colonists hold Luncheon

The Cherokee Village Chapter Daughters of American Colonists had a covered dish luncheon at the home of Jane Sandefur, on September 15, 2001. Chapter Regent, Frances Oldenburg opened the meeting with members assisting in the ritual.

For the National Defense message, Betsy Benton spoke on the terrorist attack on September 11th. Betsy received many donations of articles for the patients in the VA Hospital in Little Rock and North Little Rock.

Patricia London was nominated as a prospective member by transfer.We have eleven prospective members pending at this time.

New yearbooks and copies of chapter by-laws were distributed.

Jean Dickerman spoke of the current and on-going projects of the National Society DAC.

Jean Dickerman was presented with an Insignia Pin as Organizing Regent and serving as Regent from May 1996 to April 2000. Jean thanked the members for their thoughtfulness and said all would not have been possible except for the wonderful charter members and wishes the chapter continued growth.

The members brought a number of articles for the veterans project, including soap, shaving cream, toothbrushes and other personal care items.

The next meeting will be held December 15th with a Christmas luncheon at the home of Jean Dickerman.

The meeting closed with the singing of "God Bless America".
