Note: Often in sketches in the History & Directory of Yates Co., NY, the names of the spouses of the children are recorded with only the name of the spouse's father with no other identifying information, such as where the spouse was born, etc. Such is the case here. The father named here may have been a resident of Yates Co., New York or a neighboring county, or may also never have resided in the Lake Country area, but rather in some Eastern state, who had other children, but their names are not recorded in the History. Another point to consider is that since Yates is a small county, its inhabitants often married people from neighboring counties.
