Obituary of George Jasper Scott

The Vernon News, Thursday, 03 July 1958, page six, column one, under "OBITUARIES":
"Scott -- George Jasper, late of Mara, B.C., age 87 years, beloved husband of Ida Scott and father of Wilber, Armstrong; Clyde, Eastend, Sask.; Mrs. Elsie Degner, Whalley, B.C.; Mrs. Edith Sayers, Langley City, B.C.; Mrs. Gladys Kirby, Rockglen, Sask.; Mrs. Dorothy Bailey, Burnaby; Mrs. Agnes McCabe, Enderby; 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren. Funeral service July 2 in the Kingdom Hall, Vernon. Mr. John Phillips, Enderby, speaker. Interment followed in the family plot in the Vernon Cemetery. Vernon Funeral Home was in charge."

Lillie Brown Dead of Heart Ailment-
Mrs. Lillie Brown, 87 a resident of Lewiston 32 years, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 2:30 yesterday afternoon of a heart ailment. She had been hospitalized a week. She was the widow of Marion Brown, who had been a carpenter and farmer at Saskatchewan, Canada, and had been a general laborer at Lewiston prior to his death here in 1938.
Mrs. Brown was born March 2, 1874, at Dalton, Pa. She moved with her family as a child to Kansas and lived there until 1915. She was married at St. John, Kansas June 6, 1895. The Browns lived at Saskatchewan from 1915 until coming to Lewiston in 1929. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Harold Brown, Pomeroy, and Floyd Brown, Lawrence, Mass.; two daughters, Mrs. Ted Terlson and Mrs. Mary Thoen, Lewiston; and 10 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren. the body is at Brower-Wann Funeral Home.


Genealogical Notes: Nathan Bailey and Zilpha Westcott are the parents of Riley, Jeremiah Clark, Harry, Eliza, Charles, Perlina, Polona, Palina, Charles S., John, Zina Bailey. Jeremiah Clarke Bailey wife is Caroline States, Samuel H. Bailey is the son of Jeremiah. Bailey family Bible was handed down from Julia Ann Bailey. The Bible is now with the Brown family members in Washington.
