About Me

Summer of 1945

The war was over and all was right in the world. Of course these little boys didn't even know there had been a war. Oh, by the way, one of these cute little boys is me and the other is my identical twin. Don't ask which is me; I have no idea. Sad to say neither of us stayed this cute. As usually happens, we grew up. My identical twin brother who is a published author and a much better writer than I could pretend to be has written a delightful article on Growing Up as a Twin.

This is me as an eighteen year old sailor. The picture was taken on a rainy day in Kalivia, Greece. I joined the Navy right out of high school and spent the next twenty-two years roaming all over the world. During that time I had the pleasure of visiting such exotic places as Kwajalein Atoll, the Tonkin Gulf, and the South Pole. I did spend some time in less exotic, but nifty places, like London, Paris, Rome, Hong Kong and Manila.

In 1982 I retired from the Navy as a Chief Photographers Mate and am now the lab manager and staff photographer at Delk Photography, Inc. in Tyler, Tx. I'm a fanatical fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. My other interest include history (especially the Civil War), genealogy, and of course playing with my computer.
