Marriage Notes:
The first time Luke and Margaret appear in Macedon, NY is in the 1850 census living with a Patrick and Margaret (Beirne) Quinn. They had one child, Mary, at that time who was 2 months old. By the 1860 census, Mary is gone so she must have died. Overall, Luke and Margaret, according to the census information, had 10 children but only seven survived. The Quinns, Beirnes (O'Beirnes), and Doyles are believed to have emigrated through Canada (Montreal). The understanding is that there were ships that brought emigrants from Canada to Rochester/Buffalo. The Beirnes, Quinns, and Doyles are supposedly from the village of Kilmore which is just outside of Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Roscommon, Ireland.
