Update
28/11/2010:
On the marriage certificate for John Beach to Anne Boulton
is mention of a witness "Joseph Edward Pedley".
He is also referenced on the Sampson
family genealogy website in their family tree. Joseph
married Anne Boulton's sister, Harriet Boulton, given
away by father John Boulton on their wedding day on
31 December 1857.
Also on the marriage certificate for John Beach to Anne Boulton
is mention of the minister "John Cooke". Looking at the census, it appears John Cooke lives in Carter Street.

Random text for investigation (from Author: Francis Redfern
Title: History and antiquities of the town and neighbourhood of Uttoxeter, with notices of adjoining places):
More recently he published a sermon, by the
Rev. John Cooke, on the death in 1856 of the late Mr.
John Vernon, founder of free Sunday Schools in Uttoxeter,
and a " Farewell Sermon," by the late vicar of Uttoxeter,
the Rev. C F. Broughton. He also printed a small book
of poems, and another little volume of very pleasing and
readable sketches, entitled " Pictures of the Lowly,"
written by Mr. George Wakefield, who has recently also
published through Messrs. Bemrose a similar volume of
sketches, entitled "Sketches of Character," amongst
which ''Willy Beech" and the "Model Working Man,"
will be read with much interest.

Believed
to be born of a Yorkshire Biscuit maker (family rumour).
Update
20 Jan 2007:
Marriage certificate confirms he was born of another
John Beach, who was a Tailor...the family myth over
Biscuit Maker looks to be false!
