Will of Jacob Shore

Surry Co. NC

I, Jacob Shore of Surry County and State of North Carolina, being weak in body but of sound memory, blessed be God for it, I do this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and nineteen, make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.

I give unto my beloved wife Margaret Shore, on hundred and ten acres of land enduring her life or widowhood and then to be divided between my two youngest sons, Lewis and James. Also, one black mare, saddle and bridle, three cows and eight head of hogs, six sheep, three feather beds and furniture and all the kitchen furniture.

Secondly: Also the farming utensils I give and bequeath unto by eldest son, on hundred and ten acres of land at the west end of my tract of land to be equally divided between William and Alfred Shore, my sons. I give my stills to William Shore and also my bay mare to Alfred.

I give and bequeath unto my four youngest children, Nancy, Mary, Lewis, and James Shore, all my movable property that I give to my wife, Margaret Shore, whe she hath done with the same.

Fourthly: - My will and desire is that the balance of my stock shall be equally divided between my four youngest children, namely, Nancy, Mary, Lewis, and James Shore, and lastly, I do constitute, make and ordain William Zachary my whole executor of this my last will and Testament, utterly disallowing all former wills by me made. In testimony whereby I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above mentined.
