They were renting their farm. Other members of the household include Marshall,
head, age 28, born in February 1872 in Illinois; he had been married for 4 years.
He cannot read or write, but can speak English. Also in the household are daughter
Blanche, born May 1898; and son John H., born Aug 1899.
• 1910 Census Fulton County, Banner Township, Illinois, shows Mary Jane
as wife of Marshal Wages, 29, married 13 years with 7 children all still living.
Also in the household were as follows: Marshal, head, age 40 married 13 years,
a farmer on a general farm, renting, able to read and write and speak English;
Blanche, daughter, 12; John H, son, 9; Carl, son, 8; Rosa M., daughter, 6; Floyd

60, a farm laborer who rents a home for $8/mo., as head of household with: Mary,
49, his wife of 33 years; son Jessie, 20; daughter Vida, 16; daughter Elizabeth,
12; daughter Clara, 8; daughter Maxine, 2 & 2/12; and father-in-law William
Bedwell, 75, born in Indiana, no occupation listed.

• Canton Daily Ledger, Monday, September 9, 1946 obituary for Marshall Wages
states he was found dead in a field on the Dell G. Roberts farm about 4 p.m.
Saturday. It was believed that he had died from a heart attack, and had been
dead for two hours.
