Nettie Bernice Moomey, 93, died Sunday, May 21, 2006. She was born in Banner Township, IL, the daughter of Marshall E. Wages and Mary Jane Bedwell Wages and was one of 13 children. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Clouse of Havana, IL; daughters, Dorothy Sims and husband, C.F., Rosemary Kvamme and husband, John, Madelyn Petri and husband, Barry, Avie Penick and husband, Paul; sons, Howard Moomey and wife, Linda, Paul Moomey and wife, Kathy, Raymond Moomey, Leonard Moomey; daughter-in-law, Mary F. Moomey; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Nettie married Morris Wesley Moomey in Banner Township, IL. They moved to Edgewood, NM (formerly Venus, NM) in 1931 to assist Mr. Moomey's uncle, Ross Caudle, and his grandmother, Nellie Caudle, on their homestead. Nettie and Wesley farmed there for many years until 1977 when they moved to Albuquerque. They were married for 55 years, until Wesley's demise on May 8, 1983. Nettie and Wesley were blessed with ten children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; daughter, Blondina; and son, Floyd Emerson Moomey; two daughters-in-law, Marilyn K. and Suzanne Moomey; and two grandsons, John Wesley Kvamme and Kevin Moomey. Her greatest desire was for all of her family to know Jesus as their personal Savior, as she did. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Rev. Don Weakland officiating and interment to follow at Mountain Valley Cemetery, Edgewood, NM. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday, May 24, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., immediately preceding the Services. Pallbearers will be Jesus Jurado, David and Wesley Moomey, Dennis Penick, Barry Petri, and Mike Sims. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
