Opal B. Foshaar, 98, of West Terre Haute died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27,
2004, in her daughter's residence in West Terre Haute. She retired from the housekeeping
department at Indiana State University, after many years of service. She was
born Jan. 15. 1906, in Jasonville to Richard Elias Bedwell and Delia Mae Lantern
Bedwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Anthony "Dutch"
Foshaar, whom she married May 24, 1924, in Terre Haute. Survivors include two
daughters, Ardith "Cookie" Webster of West Terre Haute and Dorothy
Euratte of Terre Haute; six grandchildren, Mike Webster and his wife Cheryl of
New Goshen, Libby Edington and her husband Kenny of West Terre Haute, Nikki West
and her husband Curtis of Terre Haute, Jennifer Zapata and her husband Jim, Tommy
Foshaar and Teresa Foshaar, all of Peoria, Ill.; 13 great-grandchildren including,
Allison Edington and Matthew West; 18 great-great-grandchildren; home care providers,
Dawn Hipkiss and Kim Deverick; and the staff of McMillan Adult Day Care, who
provided her with loving care for the past nine years. She also was preceded
in death by a son, Robert Foshaar; a sister, Doris Shannon; three brothers, Russell
Kibler, Ernest Bedwell and Andrew Bedwell; and two sons-in-law, James D. Webster
and Jack Euratte. She was a very strong Democrat and had served as a precinct
committeeman from 1954 to 1984. She was a member of the Moose Lodge Women's Auxiliary.
Burial is in Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.
