• From Ericson: "May 1780, Robert T. Bedwell enlisted in the army from North Carolina and served for four months as a private in Captain Snoddy's Company. He enlisted again on 1 November 1780 and served for three months in Captain Smith's North Carolina Company. He enlisted a third time in August 1781, serving two and one half months in Captain Lopp's North Carolina Company. A Revolutionary War Pension was granted Robert T. Bedwell on his application executed 13 August 1832. At that time he was living in Sullivan county, Indiana. Prior to moving to Indiana, Robert and his family lived until 1816 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Robert received a patent, dated 5 September 1818, from President Monroe for the Southwest quarter of Section 1 in Township 6 North, in Sullivan County, Indiana. Patent was recorded in Knox County, Volume 41, Page 243. Robert is buried in Moody Cemetery, Pleasantville, Sullivan County, Indiana. His grave site is marked with a DAR tombstone."

1793 Wythe County, Virginia Personal Property Tax List (transcription from New River Notes website, http://www.ls.net/~newriver/va/wyth1793.htm#2) shows: Two Robert Bedwells, one taxed for one tithe and three horses (two lines down from Elijah Bedwell), the other for one tithe and two horses (the line next to Reuben Bedwell). Unknown which one is Robert T. Bedwell and which is his father, Robert Bedwell. They are listed in section two, which became Grayson County sometime in 1793.

Robert Bedwell was born 10 Feb 1759. He died 13 Sep 1842 and is buried in the Moody Cemetery near Pleasantville, Sullivan County. Stone.
