Obituary from Bogalusa (LA) Daily News, 21 Dec 2001: "Bessie Erline Galloway Bedwell, 77, a resident of Bogalusa died yesterday in her home. A native of Isabel and resident of Bogalusa, she was a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church. She is survived by eight children, Evelyn Corkern and her husband, Tom of Bogalusa, Frank Doyelas Bedwell and his wife, Dolly of Crossroads, MS, Gillas Faye Manton, Oscar Bedwell, Otis Bedwell and his wife, Louise, Thomas Bedwell and his wife Carole, all of Denham Springs, Ramona Bedwell of Slidell and Phillipp Bedwell and his wife, Pam of Marianna, FL; a sister, Ann Baughman of Poplarville, MS; a brother, David Galloway of Bogalusa; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bedwell; and a son, William Elijah Bedwell. Visitation will be today at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-10 p.m. and will tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral is tomorrow at Monroe Street Baptist Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Broadwater will officiate. Interment will follow in the Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery."

His father, Frank Bedwell, precedes him in death. Visitation will be held at Seals Funeral Home, 1720 South Range Avenue in Denham Springs, at a time to be announced later today. A visitation and burial service will be held at Isabel Baptist Church Friday. Interment will follow in the Isabel Cemetery. Seals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete at this time.
