"Hall, C. Mitchel - 3/27/1899 - 3/25/92: Mitchel Hall was a civil engineer by profession and an author, historian and genealogist by desire. He assisted his brother, Dr. Paul B., in designing the front nine of the Paintsville Golf Course. In 1926 he published a History of Johnson County and later wrote several other books, including a four volume set of local genealogy entitled Jenny Wiley Country. His son, Dr. Maurice M. Hall, practiced medicine in Paintsville for more than 45 years and became one of the region's most beloved physicians."

• In A Bedwell Family (1982), p. 89, Larry King writes: "Mr. Hall attended Georgetown (KY) College, graduated from Milwaukee (WI) School of Engineering in 1921 and did post-graduate work at U of MI and U of MD. He served eight years as draftsman to resident engineer with KY Highway Department, twelve years with MO Highway Department, twenty five years in Federal Civil and Military Service where he filled various engineering assignments and four years as consulting engineer for several Government agencies. One of Mr. Hall's most noteworthy accomplishments is the writing and publishing of thirteen historical and genealogical works."

• 1930 Census for Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri shows Mitchel Hall, 31, a State Highway engineer, and family: Hester, 32, his wife of ten years; and son Maurice M., 8. All were born in Kentucky.

Carl Mitchel (C. Mitchel) Hall and Hester Rice were married on 17 Jun 1920.^1916,1917 Hester Rice¹⁹¹⁶ was born on 15 Jan 1898. She died on 15 Jan 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland.¹⁹¹⁷ She was buried in Davis Cemetery, Davis Branch, Johnson County, Kentucky.¹¹⁵⁸ Carl Mitchel (C. Mitchel) Hall and Hester Rice had the following children:
