• Obituary copied from www.findagrave.com: "Robert Dale Bedwell, 83, of Jasonville, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2006 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville. Born April 21, 1923 in Clay County, he was the son of Sylvester and Sylvia (Burger) Bedwell. On Nov. 10, 1953, he married Mary Jane (Hammersley) Bedwell. He was an Army and Navy veteran of World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He had previously worked for Malabel in Terre Haute, Arketex Brick Company in Brazil, and Columbia Records in Terre Haute. He retired from Metropolitan School District of Shakamak Janitorial Staff. He was a member of the Jasonville United Methodist Church. Survivors include: his wife Mary Jane Bedwell of Jasonville; a stepdaughter and son-in-law Karen and Bill Gaskins of Terre Haute; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Susan Gardner of Terre Haute and Robert and Vicki Gardner of Jasonville; a brother and sister-in-law Harry "Red" and Alta Bedwell of Jasonville; nine step-grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Eugene, James, and Earl Bedwell, and two sisters, Edith and Bessie. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. on Thursday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Carl Leth officiating. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with military graveside rites."
