OBITUARY
Matilda Jane Bedwell was born near Triplett in Chariton County, MO on April 19,
1876, in which community she attended school and grew to womanhood.
She was married on April 28, 1897 to Thomas S. Daniel. To this union were born
six children, five of whom survive; a daughter, Mrs. Stella Medlin passed away
June 28, 1932.
The following children survive-Mrs. Melvina Littrell, Rothville, Mrs. Lillian
Vader, Kansas City; Ralph, Fort Madison; Mrs. Bernice Crispin, Mendon; Mrs. Velma
Littrell, Triplett.
From the Newcomer community, she moved to Mendon 35 years ago having lived in
the same house 33 years.
She had been a member of the Christian church for many years. For almost a year,
she had been in failing health and since December, her condition had become serious.
She passed away May 4, at the age of 71 years, 15 days.
Beside the husband and five children mentioned, she is survived by a sister,
Mrs. Mary Leopold, Triplett, and a brother, Paul Bedwell, Mule Shoe, TX; 11 grandchildren,
6 great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
Services were held Saturday at 2 pm in Leipard Chapel with Rev. W. C. Whitehouse,
assisted by Rev. Kenneth Kirks in charge. Interment was at McCullough cemetery
under direction of S. L. Leipard.

OBITUARY
THOMAS S. DANIEL - DIED AT ROTHVILLE
Thomas Sanders Daniel was born near Quincy, Ill. On Nov. 16, 1870 and died at
Rothville, January 8, 1953 at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 2 days.
On April 28, 1897 he was married to Matilda Bedwell at Bosworth. To this union
six children were born, one of who, Stella Medlin, preceded him in death about
20 years ago.
The surviving children are as follows: Melvina Littrell, Rothville; Lillian Vader,
Kansas City; Ralph Daniel, Ft. Madison, IA; Bernice Crispin, Mendon and Velma
Alexander, Kansas City.
He is also survived by a brother, James Daniel, Rock Island, Ill, and by 12 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel observed their 50th wedding anniversary on April 28, 1947
and enjoyed a companionship of more than 53 years, which was terminated by Mrs.
Daniel's death on May 4, 1950.
Mr. Daniel had been a member of the Mendon Christian church for many years and
his membership was there at the time of his death.
Funeral services were held at the Leipard Chapel, Mendon, Saturday at 2pm by
W. C. Whitehouse and burial was in McCullough Cemetery near Triplett.
