Virgil E. Bedwell, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clark William and Nellie Elizabeth Hall Bedwell and his four brothers, Floyd, Wilbur, Ernest and Merle Bedwell.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, W. Marlene Bedwell of Houston, Texas; son Lon Phillip Bedwell of Houston; daughters Julie Elizabeth Perkins and husband Robert of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rebecca Ruth Besier of Houston; Jennifer Leah Duke and husband Michael of Houston; foster daughter Vivian Ann Francy of Vermont; grandchildren Jessica Renee Brown, Walker Davis Perkins, Jason Ray Bedwell, Jonathon Isaac Besier, Lauren Rachel Perkins, Jennan Huff, Michael Christopher Duke and James Robert Duke; great-grandson Elijah Cash Brown and sister Shirley Jean Craig of Wellington.

Virgil had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had been an elder at Spring Woods Church of Christ.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home with funeral services held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2008 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment was at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
