King says, p. 21: "Mr. Gammill was a farmer in Guthrie Co., IA. It can be assumed he farmed in Cass Co., TX and Los Alamos, CA. A State of Iowa Internal Revenue License to carry on occupation as 'Pealer 2nd Class' during 1886 in Guthrie Co. was issued to him on payment of a fee of eight dollars. He was a Methodist."
