COALMONT -- Gerald E. Bedwell, 71, of Coalmont, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute at 1:07 p.m.

He was born March 2, 1936 in Sullivan County to Roy Earl and Beatrice Delores Marshall Bedwell.

He work in Civil Service Transportation at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., and was a member of the Shakamak Church in Jasonville and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Bertha M. Bedwell of Coalmont; daughters, Catherine M. Hayden of Lyons, Christina M. Noiseau of Kissimmee, Fla., Samantha J. Bascom of Coalmont, and Delores F. Nicolson of Madisonville, Ky.; sons, John Bedwell and Keith Bedwell, both of Mesa, Ariz., Michael Bedwell of Tucson, Ariz., and Lawrn Williams of Coalmont; brother, Jackie Bedwell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, Connor Bedwell, Keith Bedwell Jr., Danielle Bedwell, Martin Harguindeguy, D.J. Hayden, Andrew Kalkbrenner, Paul Bedwell, Gina Bascom, Nickiol Bascom, Reagan Palmieri, and DeEtta Williams; four great grandchildren, Franklin, Gage, JR, and Wyatt; niece Emma L. Bedwell; and one great niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a great grandson, Bryant Harguindeguy.

Funeral service will be today at 10 a.m. at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Chris McKinney officiating.

Visitation was Friday from 5-8 p.m., and today from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

The family has chosen cremation after the service.
