of carcinoma of the sigmoid on 5 Sep 1945 in Crockett County, Tennessee.790 He was buried in 1945 in Salem
Cemetery, Crockett County, Tennessee. He was a school teacher.790,791
1900 Census for Crockett County, Tennessee, shows J.A. Bedwell, born July
1863, whose occupation is listed as Postmaster, and his wife Ida, born Jan 1870;
they have been married for 14 years, and she has had five children, only three
of whom were still living. Also in the household are daughter Lilly M., born
Jan 1888; daughter Sarah E., born Apr 1890; Mary M. Bedwell, born Dec 1892; and
a boarder named Marion (illegible), whose occupation is listed as teacher.
1920 census shows Joseph A. Bedwell and family. Joseph is listed as homeowner
on Barnes Street, Bells Town, Crockett County, Tennessee.
1930 Census for Crockett County, Tennessee shows Joseph A. Bedwell, 67,
a truck farmer who rents, and Addie, 59, his wife of four years. Joseph Asbury
Bedwell and Ida Giles were married about 1886 in Tennessee.308 Ida Giles791 (daughter of Cyrus Green Giles and Margaret McKinney)
was born on 5 Jan 1870 in Tennessee.792
Death Certificate says she was born in 1869, but 1900 Census says 1870.
She died on 9 Aug 1921 in Bells, Crockett County, Tennessee.792 She was buried in Salem Cemetery, Crockett County,
Tennessee.793
From the Gibson County Courier-Chronicle for THURSDAY AUGUST 18,1921:
GADSDEN--The remains of MRS. J. A. BEDWELL, who died in Bells last Tuesday were
buried at Salem Cemetery Wednesday.
