• 1900 Census for Ellis Precinct, Cherokee County, Alabama shows India Bedwell, born Aug 1872, single, living with her aunt, Margaret Smith, age 66, a widow. Also in the household is Ina G. Bedwell, age 10, another niece of Margaret Smith's. (I wonder if this is actually Ida born 1879, who would have been 20, not 10?)

• 1920 Census for Stamford, Jones County, Texas shows Albert A. Dean, 52, a foreman, as head of household with: wife India, 46; son Myrl, 16, occupation illegible but apparently the same place of business as his father; daughter Landisell, 11; and son Woodrow, 5.

• 1930 Census for Ada City, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma shows Alvin Dean, 62, a railroad engineer, and family: wife India, 54; and son Woodrow, 14. They rent a residence for $25/month.
