Dickey overseers of the poor in District No. 1 bind out according to law to Brison Darnall John Kennerly Bedwell (son of Dolitha Bedwell) five years of age until he attain the age of twenty-one years."

•1910 Census for Elk Creek, Grayson County, Virginia, shows John K. Bedwell, age 55, a farm laborer, living in the household of his father-in-law, Louis P. Vaught, age 72, a widower farmer who owns his own land. Living with them is John's wife and Louis's daughter, Sarah A. Bedwell, age 41, who has had no children. They are newlyweds. This is John's second marriage and Sarah's first.

John Kenley Bedwell and Susan Frances Davis were married on 29 Mar 1879.⁵³⁰ Susan Frances Davis⁵³⁵ was born on 29 Mar 1859.⁵³⁰ She died in 1908 in Surry County, North Carolina.⁵³⁰ John Kenley Bedwell and Susan Frances Davis had the following children:
